Mt. St. Helens Photo

While working our way through some of our photo archive this past
year, we stumbled into a great photo shot near Mt. St. Helens in the 1950s

Redesigned & Upgraded Website
We recently began a redesign of our website. In the first
phase the site borders and content were redesigned to better set forth the
mission and goals of the museum and to allow non-members to learn how they can
become involved with the organization. During the second phase we implemented
several educational aspects, a membership signup via PayPal and donation options
for individuals interested in getting more involved.
During 2011 we will continue to develop the site adding
more educational and historical aspects. Current board members, Tom Samuelsen
and Tom Mehren are working together to create informative stories which will
string together the history of past events like early 20th century
gypsy tours, board track racing in the Northwest and a look at some of the
earliest motorcycle headlines. Stay tuned to the website and watch your
quarterly newsletter for more details.
Inventory Database & Display Upgrade
This past year, our curator Lee Barker began a database
project to log all the inventory in the museum's collection. This will allow us
to have the information readily available when selecting items to use in
upcoming exhibits.
Lee also upgraded our current traveling display boards and
provided much needed repairs to them.
New Tri-fold Brochure
During the Fall, Lee Barker and Tom Mehren developed a new
tri-fold brochure to promote the museum. The tri-fold was handed out to
attendees at the Seattle International Motorcycle Show in December and is
inserted into Northwest orders shipped from the Sound RIDER! online store. If
you'd like a quantity to help promote the museum to others contact Tom at M.

Donation Development
With our long-term goal of having our own physical location one day, several
members have formed a committee to begin work in locating a person qualified to
assist with developing corporate giving opportunities for the museum. If you
know someone you think might be qualified, contact Terry Kellog through the
contact page.
2011 Raffle Bike Search Is On
In 2010 our Yamaha 100cc L5 model raised monies that helped
support the overhead expenses of the museum. The final winner was drawn at the
Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts holiday banquet on January 8th.
Now the search is on for a suitable bike to be used in
raising monies to cover our 2011 overhead costs. Have you got an older
motorcycle you'd like to donate? Please let us know. Your donation is tax
deductable. The bike should be in presentable condition, running (no roaches
please) and have a clean title. Monies raised from the 2011 raffle bike will help us upgrade the
information panels in our traveling display and create additional marketing
materials to support the promotion of the museum.

Events Center in Seattle December 10-12.
Space Donation
There are many ways individuals can donate to the museum.
The obvious ways are through financial and volunteer time donations. But a
motorcycle museum without a permanent home is always in need of storage as our
collection grows. If you'd like to donate some dry storage space for the museum
please contact us through our website at
www.pnwmom.org.
